NBMLHD Community Mental Health offer a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Our Assertive Community Treatment service is seeking to engage a Mental Health Professional to join their team based in Blue Mountains Katoomba. As a Mental Health Professional, you will take on the role of a Care Coordinator ensuring optimal outcomes for consumers who are affected by severe and enduring mental illness. You will engage with their carers through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care.

**What you will bring to the role**:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and including eligibility for membership of relevant professional body &/or full registration (if applicable) with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Experience working in an Assertive Community Treatment Team and/or knowledge of the principles that guide service delivery within this model of practice.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills.
- Computer competence and literacy.
- Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to use for work purpose. This may include driving long distances across the Local Health District.
