**About the role**

As Head of Smart City Innovation, you will report to the Strategy, Innovation & Transformation Manager, leading a team of six.

You will be critical in leading Casey's Smart Cities and innovation portfolio aimed at improving the liveability of the City through strategic prioritisation, opportunity identification, engagement and delivery.

**Responsibilities of this role include**
- Lead the City of Casey's Smart City approach, including the development and implementation of the City of Casey's Smart City Strategy through community, organisational and councillor consultation.
- Develop and implement a Smart Cities program of work that ensures investment is made in the right place and continually prioritise, revise, monitor and evaluate.
- Build strong connections and partnerships with a range of stakeholders and business partners, and act as an organisational leader, understanding and contributing to organisational strategy, challenges and priorities.
- Take risks while ensuring governance and controls are implemented to give Casey residents the best value for money, including facilitating internal and community advisory committees.
- Work across the business and with industry to develop an innovation pipeline, supporting the innovation program's continuation and facilitating the uptake and delivery of innovation concepts and prototypes.

**About you**
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and uses these to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
- Demonstrates a sound understanding of the economic, political, and social issues relating to the Local Government environment and rises above the detail to see the patterns, trends, or implications before planning or acting.
- Demonstrates a commitment to collaboration and consultation across the organisation, ensuring cross-functional cooperation to achieve high-quality outcomes for the community.
- Builds a desire to take responsibility and collaborate within and between teams. Creates an environment where staff feel involved and valued with shared goals.
- Identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, manages service delivery risks, and interprets trends in relevant sectors. Ensures effective budget delivery and management, including forecasting throughout the year.
