The activities program is a critical piece of our care model; promoting psychological, social, and physical wellbeing. As a leisure and lifestyle officer, you play a key role in ensuring the health and happiness of our residents. To succeed you will need to be self-directed, innovative, creative and passionate about the delivery of activities at KOPWA. You will be a problem solver and strong communicator, able to adapt your style and approach depending on the needs of residents. At KOPWA, the activities programs are ongoingly reviewed and assessed to ensure they meet the varied needs of our residents, keeping them engaged and busy and ensuring their twilight years are full of fun and purpose.

**Responsibilities**
- Run activities, social engagements, events and excursions for residents in an energetic, engaging and inclusive manner
- Engage with residents, encouraging them to attend social events and activities of interest
- Provide input and feedback on lifestyle programs and social calendars to the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator
- Maintain appropriate records of all assessments, therapy plans, evaluations, and activity programs
- Encourage residents to provide feedback on activities and ensure feedback is communicated to the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator to drive program changes
- Ensure leisure and lifestyle resources are maintained and available for use
- Engage with community groups as required to build a network of support and social partners
- Utilise volunteers within the organisation, providing support and direction as required

**About you**
- Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle
- Previous experience gained in a similar role
- Ability to take initiative and flex programs and style according to resident needs
- Self-directed and motivated
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to form trusting relationships with residents
- High level of patience and understanding in interactions with residents who have a cognitive impairment
- Highly developed organisation and time management skills
- Ability to think critically about the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of the work you do
- The ability to solve problems independently
- Warm, creative, confident and engaging
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle
- Computer and documentation skills
- Current NDIS/Police check
- Covid vaccination including booster

**Desirable**
- Experience working with people living with Dementia or Alzheimer's highly regarded
