Mackellar is the mining services contractor for Bravus’ Carmichael Mine and together we are creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland. Production is now in full swing at the mine site located in the Galilee Basin and we’re excited to be growing our team.

Reporting to the HST Superintendent, this hands-on mine site Training Specialist role is required for a 5/2/4/3 roster out of Rockhampton or Townsville as the local embarkation points.

Responsibilities will include:

- Establish the training needs and develop individual plans and processes for new starters and upskilling for current staff
- Liaise with external service providers to establish effective training services as required
- Liaise with recruitment team weekly in relation to required skills
- Understand the relationship between approved positions and the training need
- Provide training approval requests to the HSET Superintendent
- Provide guidance to trainers / assessors with regards to quality assurance of training materials and records, and compliance requirements
- Publish the training matrix for production and maintenance regularly
- Identify any issues that can impact either the maintenance or production plan and raise with the HSET Superintendent

Skills and experience required include:

- Previous experience and relevant qualifications to coordinate training across production and maintenance crews on a busy mine site
- Demonstrated success in maintaining an excellent safety record for teams
- Current Mining Supervisor - G1, G8, G9 (formerly S1, S2, S3)
- Current Carry out the Risk Management Process - G2 (RIIRIS402D)
- Current Drivers Licence
