**Sleep Fellow, Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine, RCH**

**About the Role**

This is a Fixed Term Full Time position at 1.0 FTE per fortnight within the Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine.

You will be responsible for:

- **_In-patient sleep and ventilation consults_** (5-10 patients per week) on the respiratory ward, HDU, PICU, NICU, general wards
- **_Out-patient clinics_** with consultant supervision (approx.. 2 per week) including sleep disorders clinic, respiratory sleep clinic, respiratory support clinic, neuro-muscular clinic, scoliosis clinic, tracheostomy clinic, unsettled babies clinic
- **_Initiating & managing non-invasive ventilation_** in outpatient and in-patient setting (~60 CPAP and 30 BIPAP admissions per year for initiation)
- Learning to **_stage, score and report diagnostic polysomnography_** (PSG), O2 titration PSG, and NIV titration PSG and home PSG - being overseen by a Grade 3 paediatric Sleep Scientist
- Learning how to **_set-up patients for PSG _**- being overseen by a range of Sleep scientists
- Learning to **_interpret and report nocturnal oximetry and oxycapnography_**

Classification for this position will range from HM25 to HM30

(Base salary $129,048.40-$177,662.12 per annum, plus superannuation)

**What you’ll achieve**:

- Competence in clinical management of sleep and ventilation patients
- Competence in staging, scoring and reporting polysomnography and other abbreviated sleep testing
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure objectives are met

**Your skills and experience**
- FRACP exams passed in Paediatric medicine
- Enrolled in the RACP training program for advance trainees
- Interest in pursuing a career in Paediatric Sleep Medicine
- Ability to participate in the on-call roster in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine
