**Placement Outline**:
- Gympie Regional Council is seeking an EOI from 3_rd_ or 4_th_ year students who wish to access an unpaid workplace learning experience in our Work experience and vocational placement program. This would be a requirement of the University Coursework or other Programs offered by a University, and Councils Vision for embracing and maximising opportunities in a balanced and sustainable way, supported by our natural assets, maintained and developed to cater for current and future needs._
- Projects you may be involved with would include:_
- _Development and implementation of an environmental management system_
- _Support the development of the sustainability program_
- _Support technical and resource recovery staff in the delivery of Waste Transfer Facility operations_
- _Gympie Council has a variety of expert professionals in their field undertaking best and leading practice activities, which a student can contribute to and learn from, exposing them to real world experience and industry networks. Council are looking to engage students with completed coursework or a strong desire to learn environmental management systems, environmental strategy development and report writing, and a variety of other environmental education and community engagement activities._
- _If you are a passionate about environment studies and practice, please provide Council a copy of your current CV, Academic Transcript to date, and a cover letter outlining how you will contribute to your own academic and professional development and that of Council in our unique region. Where Council identifies a relevant placement for your desired professional development, you may be contacted for interview._
- _To be eligible students must be:
- in their 3rd or 4th year of study.
- enrolled in university studies in an environmental science field that has a placement requirement.
- able to provide a formal placement agreement and copies of current liability and worker's compensation/personal accident insurance supplied by the University.
**Placement duration**:
- approximately 96 hours but will be driven by individual student requirements and course placement requirements.
Placements may be for a consecutive period or on a regular work pattern (e.g. Monday to Friday or every Wednesday).
**Interested?**:
Please contact your University's placement advisor to confirm your eligibility for a placement and ability to provide a formal workplace learning or other student placement agreement from the University, and certificate of currency for public liability and worker’s compensation/personal accident insurance. Council will require copies of this documentation at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the placement.
