**The role**

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and proactive **Full-time Laboratory Technician** to join our Science Faculty and be part of the ever-growing field of STEM. It is an exciting journey that the school is entering and we are looking to grow the team further. The key purpose of this role is to provide practical support and assistance to teachers in the Science Faculty. This will involve preparing and setting up the classroom inclusive of equipment. The Laboratory Technician works in partnership with teaching staff to provide effective learning outcomes for students at the School.

**The successful applicant must**:

- have completed a Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent Science Degree
- have experience in a similar role
- have practical knowledge and understanding of materials and equipment used in Science curriculum / laboratories
- have practical knowledge and understanding of duties associated with the preparation, set up, removal and storage of materials and equipment used in laboratories
- work with teaching staff to ensure that the appropriate equipment and consumable items are readily available to complete practical sessions
- have demonstrated experience in, implementing and maintaining required health and safety standards including the standards for chemical storage and labelling
- possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
- have high level communication skills
- work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team
- be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School’s program
- hold an Anaphylaxis certificate, or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement
- have a current Working with Children check or willing to obtain prior to commencement
- have a current National Police Check or be willing to obtain prior to commencement
