**Job Description**:
The E&I Designer reports to the Multidiscipline Lead Designer and is responsible for creating & modifying Cable blocks / Hook-ups / Single Line diagrams and termination drawings, creating & modifying 3D models for Cable ladder, underground conduit, Equipment Rooms & Panels etc. The E&I Designer will also help to develop new instrument & electrical equipment to tie into the existing Kemerton main project, which is currently being commissioned. The E&I Designer will work with the intelligent MicroStation models and supporting databases, which were developed for Kemerton to construct the plant, using the existing electrical & instrumentation drawings and 3D models. The E&I Designer is required to assist with the other drafting disciplines, project, and discipline engineers, communicating with suppliers & installation crews to review installation progress, responding to Technical Queries, and ensuring quality of installation to design and in line with Albemarle specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to Albemarle safety standards throughout Project execution.
- Protect Albemarle information in all new projects and dealing with contractors and sub-contractors.
- Assist in developing and conveying the unique safety culture of the Kemerton plant, with the new systems developed, to contractors and vendors with the goal of zero harm (or other similar protocols developed for Kemerton).
- Assist the other drafting disciplines within the team on an ad hoc basis.
- Contribute to the development and review of new Electrical & Instrumentation projects, ensuring compliance and safety in design, in line with Kemerton design criteria in consultation with discipline engineers.
- Create new Electrical & Instrumentation layouts with preliminary additions and changes as required by each new project.
- Prepare Electrical & Instrumentation Cable blocks / Hook-ups / Single Line diagrams and termination and installation drawings of smaller projects, under the direction of the Capital Projects’ engineering team.
- Prepare new Cable ladder, underground conduit, Equipment Rooms, Panels layouts and locations drawings of Electrical & Instrumentation equipment for larger projects in the 3D model, for an EPCM to progress through feasibility to detailed design and execution phases.
- Develop & Review Vendor package interface drawings.
- Lead and take part in design reviews and HAZOPs as required.
- Work collaboratively with multi discipline Albemarle Capital Projects team.
- Maintenance of Electrical & Instrumentation Drawing registers & lists.
- Review and respond to Technical Queries raised on projects & Kemerton Site Masters.
- Ensure compliance with Electrical & Instrumentation design and layout criteria, ensuring safe design, accessibility, operability, and maintainability of proposed equipment.
- Review and update design procedures, incorporating lessons learned as agreed with EPCM, updating where required, adhering to Albemarle procedures and industry best practice within the Electrical & Instrumentation field.
- Assist project management team with material and updates for presentation on designs and progress reporting associated with E & I.
- Contribute to the development of the integrated Project schedule and change management/mitigation.
- Participate in value engineering, constructability, and risk reviews and support maintenance of the risks and opportunities register within the E & I Team.
- Identify any Project deficiencies for Project team correction within the Electrical & Instrumentation field.
- Support punch listing, inspection, and hand over activities for all Project facilities during final stage of construction.
- Assist Operations team with pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures as required.

Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements
- 10+ years’ relevant 3D E&I modelling experience, preferably with AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation intelligent models.
- Prior technical experience working with EPCM Greenfields or Brownfields environment, preferably in a chemical processing plant either in general or mining processing industry. Design mining electrical and instrumentation experience, DCS/ESD Loop drawings, block diagrams, single-line diagrams, schematics, electrical equipment installation drawings.
- Proficient in using 3D intelligent modelling programs with AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation.
- Ability in developing concept designs, ensuring innovation and safety is at the forefront.
