- High level leadership capabilities with proven ability to deliver successful outcomes in a complex working environment with competing priorities.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on complex issues related to innovation in Queensland, including the preparation and oversight of submissions, briefs and correspondence.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning and organisational skills.
- Remains calm under pressure and in stressful situations, responding positively to challenges.
- Undertake and lead the management of financial agreements and service delivery for startup and scaleup programs, including the satisfactory resolution of complex and emerging issues.
- Analyses, interprets and solves difficult problems, engaging team and management input to provide accurate and timely solutions.
- High level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to liaise, consult and maintain positive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

- Manage, deliver and progress complex programs by identifying strategic opportunities, developing and implementing actionable project plans, and evaluating outcomes of these programs (Vision).
- Build effective partnerships by understanding the needs of diverse stakeholder groups, both external and internal, and using this understanding to provide relevant strategic and operational advice (Results).
- Embrace change by confidently responding to emergent issues and generating creative and practical solutions in uncertain environments to deliver project outcomes (Vision).
- Effectively communicate complex issues to diverse stakeholder groups, both internal and external to government (Results).
- Oversee and manage financial incentive agreements by leading negotiations, setting clear deliverables and actively managing relationships (Accountability).
