Fulltime Role - Minto Location
- Annual Base Wage - $64,872 per annum (excludes Superannuation)

Austex Dies is a subsidiary of the Capral Group. We are Australia's leading extrusion die manufacturer. Our capabilities include CADCAM Design, a full range of CNC machining including Turning, Milling, EDM Erosion and Wire Cutting and in-house Heat Treatment facilities.

We are now seeking to employ a highly experienced Fitter Turner to assist with our in-house die manufacture process.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Reviewing drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings.
- Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
- Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and setting controls for têxtile machines.
- Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal.
- Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
- Preparing pattern mechanisms to control the operation of têxtile machines used to spin, weave, knit, sew and tuft fabric.
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.

**Essential Skills**:

- Must be a trade qualified Fitter and Turner
- Minimum of 3 years' experience
- Experience on CNC lathe with accurate workmanship
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Attention to detail / quality driven
- Understanding of properties and machinability of steel in extrusion dies
- Ability to turn blank on soft and hard state on CNC lathe
- Manual turning on borer / accuracy of radial drill
- Ability to work shift work (as required)
