**Your day as an Assistant Advisor**
The **Transport, Infrastructure and Investment** division of NSW Treasury works with various clusters to improve public services and major projects. They focus on effective budgeting to ensure impactful public spending. The Planning, Housing and Infrastructure branch advises on policy and budget proposals, helps prepare the State Budget, manages relationships with key agencies, monitors their performance, and collaborates to build a strong and sustainable NSW economy.
As an **Assistant Advisor**you will contribute to analysis and advice to senior management, the Treasurer and Cabinet committees on policy, regulatory, financial and/or economic issues facing government agencies and businesses.
You will support the assessment of budget proposals as part of the delivery of the NSW Budget and undertake research and analysis to support sound and implementable recommendations enabling broader public sector outcomes.
Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.
You will be joining our **Policy and Budget Group** and will be working within the **Transport Infrastructure & Investment Division, /Planning Housing & Infrastructure Team**. Read more about your future Group and Division.

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, accounting, public administration, public policy, law or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake financial analysis or analyse public policy from an economic perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to consider differing perspectives and manage external stakeholder relationships supporting the delivery of policy advice and budget products, under supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake research and draft briefing materials for Treasury Executive and Ministerial Offices, under supervision.
- Relevant work expereince post university would be highly regarded.
- Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
