Be part of the amazing work and ministry of CRU by using your cookery trade and/or passionate catering skills to enhance our guests’ experience at CRU Galston Gorge.

CRU, a Bible-based interdenominational Christian youth organization, is seeking a permanent Kitchen Shift Leader to join the growing team.

CRU Galston Gorge caters for up to 220 guests in lodge style accommodation. Your new office will be in the tranquil setting of nature which plays host to an impressive range of activities from ropes courses, abseiling, challenge courses and a swimming pool, just to name a few.

**As a Kitchen Shift Leader, you will be involved in a variety of activities including**:

- Coordinating and supervising general food production and being ‘hands on’ as required.
- Assisting in ensuring compliance with, and the training of catering staff in, operating procedures, food production and service.
- Stock rotation and food quantity/quality control.
- Effective management and assistance with the oversight of the site’s response to special diets and allergies.

**The successful applicant will ideally have**:

- Trade qualifications in catering, hospitality or related areas would be highly regarded
- Hands-on experience in a similar role would be highly regarded
- Experience in food preparation and cooking for large volumes of people would be advantageous.
- Experience in Christian camping and conferencing, or similar, would be highly regarded.
- Experience in supervising and leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Current first aid certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
