Youth Support Worker

Adventure Team is seeking new youth support worker/mentor to join our growing team in South Brisbane. We are advertising for a support role to start within 7 days.

**About Us**

Since forming in 2019, we’ve grown from a team of 2 on the Gold Coast in Queensland to many, and we are in the process of expanding our services in South Brisbane. We are a disability support company, helping people living with disabilities through providing mentoring, group and respite services. As a team we are strongly driven to help others and offer personalised services centred around pushing boundaries, building hobbies and routine, and encouraging adventure.

**About the Opportunity**

We need mentors to provide support everyday. We will have two to three shifts for every single day: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, 2:00pm to 10pm and 10pm to 6am (overnight shift) on a 1:2 ratio (1 youth support workers for 2 clients). Shift time may change/increase depending on the clients' needs.

We are particularly looking for a mentor to provide support with activities, groceries and meal preparation. People who identify as First Nations are encouraged to apply.

The clients for this role would be siblings: a 9-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.

Positions are casual roles offering a competitive starting weekday rate ranging from $31.76 to $40.43 p/h (+ super), depending on experience.

As a mentor, you will be supporting our clients with daily living and community access. We provide support in a variety of settings covering a broad range of needs and we work to ensure we match you, your interests, availability and skillset to the right person.

**Requirements**:

- Working with Children Card (Blue Card)
- Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current, non-restricted open drivers licence or non-restricted provisional licence
- Roadworthy, registered and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
- Strong verbal communication skills
