**As our client continues to build their internal capabilities they also look at increasing performance whilst providing a framework for which the retail energy business can innovate and grow.**

An opportunity is now available for an Energy Regulatory & Policy Manager to work within the Retail Business Unit in a highly influential end to end regulatory role.

As a key member of the central policy think tank, you will be involved in the development of the regulatory framework and market arrangements to support the overall retail strategy through internal and external stakeholder engagement, and companywide advocacy.

**Responsibilities**
- Further develop and improve the retail regulatory framework and market arrangements, with an emphasis on the national regulatory framework;
- Build and maintain relationships with the Retail Business Unit to ensure that the business is kept informed of, and contributes actively to, the regulatory framework;
- Manage relationships with regulators to ensure that the business can influence regulatory outcomes to achieve its business strategies;
- Provide accurate and timely regulatory advice to the Retail Business Unit on gas and electricity rules, regulations, codes and guidelines nationally; and
- Provide input to a companywide compliance campaign

**Required skills and expertise**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated regulatory experience within the energy industry
- A detailed understanding of regulations and how they will impact the business
- Understanding of best practice developments in regulatory compliance and drive their implementation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence both the business and external relationships in an intuitive and enthusiastic manner
