The **Cafe Assistant** at St Andrews Christian College plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the cafe and providing excellent service to staff and students. This position requires a proactive individual with a passion for customer service and a willingness to contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the school environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene are maintained at all times.
- Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering, receiving, and organizing stock to ensure efficient operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming customers, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and handling transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the cafe area, including cleaning tables, equipment, and ensuring a tidy environment for customers.
- Collaborate with other cafe staff to coordinate tasks effectively and support each other during busy periods.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while handling food items and operating equipment in the cafe.

**Required Skills**:

- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic food preparation and handling knowledge
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines

**Required Experiences**:

- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with a busy kitchen environment is an advantage
- Experience working in a school or educational setting is beneficial
- Understanding of cash handling procedures and POS systems is a plus
