**The opportunity**:
Reporting into the Head of Retail, the role of the
**State Manager** is to maximize store/s performance across
**NSW/ACT (17 Stores & 15 Myer concessions)**, through key areas of team management, sales, customer service, staff retention and recruitment, WHS, visual merchandising, stock management and expense control. You are to lead a winning culture & develop people internally for future success.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Drive sales, deliver profitable budgets and meet targets for all stores across the States
- In conjunction with the Head of Retail, develop strategies to achieve seasonal sales budgets for the state
- Influence, coach and develop Store/Cluster & Area Manager capabilities to achieve store sales and profit budgets and targets
- Hold sales driving discussions with Area Managers daily
- Monitor daily & weekly progressive sales with regular updates with the other State Managers and Head of Retail
- Review weekly, monthly & seasonal sales trends in conjunction with the Head of Retail to identify opportunities to further maximize & drive sales
- Drive a ‘Continuous Improvement’ culture by identifying opportunities to improve product performance and return on floor space
- Analyse competitor activity and identify any strategies or tactics that impact in company market share and identify state specific opportunities.
- In conjunction with Head of Retail, work with planning and marketing departments to identify and implement initiatives and incentives to drive sales
- Support Area & Store Managers with effective rostering strategies, Store optimization, strategic planning and wage cost management
- Conduct P&L training and regular P&L reviews with Area Managers, Cluster Managers and Store Managers, increasing focus on financial performance
- Assistance with recruitment

**To succeed in this role, you will have**:

- Passion and experience in retail and/or service environment
- Leading by example and embedding the company culture at all times
- Proven recent experience in multi-site management
- Proven management and operational leadership with a strong emphasis on interpersonal skills including coaching and developing of team members
- Sound knowledge, skill and experience in Retail Industry
- Proven capability of implementing business plans and strategies
- Formal training and tertiary qualifications in business or retail management would be well regarded
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Strong communication skills and basic numeric + literacy skills
- Knowledge of financial analysis and planning
- Ability to understand and drive business perspective and balance short and long term views
- Excellent time management skills
