**About the role**:

- This role involves the inspection of produce and machinery, requiring walking over uneven terrain in outdoor, hot environments. Collaborate with the team to achieve the efficient and effective delivery of operational goals in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures.
- Conduct field-based inspections, monitoring, surveillance, and information gathering as outlined in the operational plan, contributing to the protection of Queensland's biosecurity system.
- Provide government inspection services for interstate market access, collect data and samples for plant pest and disease projects, and assist stakeholders in managing biosecurity risks.
- Work with external stakeholders, ensuring legislative compliance by responding to technical inquiries and providing accurate and timely technical advice.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote biosecurity risk management and government policy.

**About the individual**:

- You will have an Australian Diploma or Associate Diploma or higher qualification in a relevant field (e.g., agriculture or environment) from a recognized tertiary institute.
- Current 'C' class driver's license.
- Previous experience under relevant legislation advantageous
- Previous experience in field-based inspections or surveillance advantageous
- You will be passionate about protecting biosecurity of Australia
- You will be able to communicate will all stakeholders
- You will be keen to develop and learn
