The Gap

Our team needs a Staff Supervisor with motivation, patience and a fantastic attitude.

This person needs to have a high level of IT capability in a practice environment. They need to be really comfortable with sharing knowledge with the bookkeeping team and helping troubleshoot ways to assist clients. And very importantly, this person needs to have an attitude that fosters and supports the team they look after.

Their daily duties will include:

- Work closely with management to ensure that all staff are working effectively and efficiently in an environment that supports their wellbeing, the overall team and the aims of the organisation
- Reviewing weekly workflow audits and taking actions with areas of concern
- Analysing concern areas, identifying skill, resource or other gaps that effect team members from those reports
- Interacting regularly with each staff member in order to know their position on the team and their style of work.
- Reviewing processes and procedures that have been created for the staff and ensuring they are fit for purpose
- Fostering a culture of shared learning, helpfulness and joy
- Assisting management with training staff in their technical roles and being able to assist them with their technical queries

The Solution

Our ideal next staff member is someone who values working with a great team and works hard themselves to facilitate a great environment.

We are focusing on senior bookkeepers or accountants who have a broad range of practice (multi-client) experience and love to work with people.
- Public Practice experience 2 years + - or experience in a similar professional services environment (multi-client)
- 10 years + in bookkeeping with experience in full service bookkeeping, payroll and internal accounting
- Current or previous Xero certification and 3+ years of Xero experience at a high level
- Cert IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting, further qualifications including tertiary accounting will be well regarded
- Extensive experience in small business accounting and bookkeeping - understanding the needs, feelings and pain points of our clients. Australian experience is highly regarded, but we do have a mix of international and Australian clients
- Capable of being highly self-motivated and responsible, while caring for the needs of others

Our Practice

We are located in Spring Hill - but the position could be handled remotely - as we have a range of remote staff now. We are currently a team of 13, in operation for over 10 years. We are a public accounting practice focusing on bookkeeping, payroll, BAS, management accounting and small business management advisory consulting.
