**About the Role**

Your primary purpose in this position is to:

- Increase actual and perceived levels of community safety across the municipality through effective leadership of Council’s Community Safety Team in line with the Council Plan, Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan and endorsed Council priorities.
- Ensure effective partnerships with key stakeholders are established and maintained to achieve this outcome.

**About You**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Planning, Community Development, Social Sciences, Social Research, or equivalent with extensive and diverse demonstrated experience.
- Relevant experience should include supervising and managing, social planning and community development programs in a large organisation.
- Expertise in advocating, developing, implementing, and communicating strategies, policies, and programs.
- Consultation and advocacy skills to build relationships, collaborate and advocate within a diverse community.
- Experience in the social, political, and legal frameworks in which Local Government operates. Can think operationally and strategically to conceive feasible and innovative solutions to complex political and social issues.
