Yard Master

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a **Yard Master **to join our Rail and Transit Systems team in **Pakenham
- VIC - Fulltime position.**

Our Yard Masters are primarily responsible for the safe movement of all rail vehicles within the boundaries of the Pakenham East Facility. Our Train Maintenance Facility comprises of a Train wash, Stabling Yard and associated infrastructure for 65 new High-Capacity Metro Trains (HCMTs).

Working a **4on-4off-4on-6off
- 12hr days and nights **roster; you will plan for all rail vehicles to be suitably positioned to allow for relevant maintenance activities and ensure the production targets are met. The organisation of the yard area and rail vehicle stabling allowing for all departures to occur as per plan without delays.

You will also be able to carry out train moves where necessary and liaise with relevant personnel to manage any rail vehicle move. Wash plant operations are controlled by the Yard Master as is any activity being carried out within the yard boundary.

**About You**:

- Experience within the rail industry
- Ability to conduct safe and efficient rolling stock movements
- Must have very good communication skills
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills
- Plan stabling positions
- Ensure arrivals are positioned relevant to their activities and departure constraints
- Maximising the efficiency of site operations
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of customer service
- Must be computer literate
- An understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement procedures
- Ability to motivate team members and
- Encourage and boost positive team morale
- Clear logical thought processes
- Calming influence in a pressured environment
- Maintain a commitment to ZERO HARM policies, always
