**About the role**
The Young Men’s Health Research role is responsible for co-establishing a broad program of research in the young men’s health space (across sport, health and direct-to-man settings) and supporting the Global Director in the foundation of men’s health research activities within the Movember Institute. The Institute will catalyse and accelerate men’s health research and its translation into practice across Movember’s markets.
**You’ll have the opportunity to**
- Design (and co-design with partners), conduct or oversee/guide research studies and projects related to young men's mental health, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Collaborate with other Movember cross-functional staff across research, advocacy, partnerships and marketing to develop research proposals, ethics submissions as well as secure partnership funding.
- Prepare research reports, academic papers, and other knowledge products for publication in reputable journals and presentations at conferences.
- Take a leading role in managing research projects, ensuring timelines, objectives, and deliverables are met.
- Stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field of young men's mental health.
- Contribute to Movember being recognised globally as a leader in men’s health
- Actively promote and facilitate collaboration with other researchers, institutions, and organizations externally working on related topics. Identify and actively reduce constraints to collaboration
- Catalyse and accelerate research and its translation into practice, policy, and community.
- Strengthen measurement and learning of what works well in improving young men’s health, particularly at-risk priority populations in our markets.
- Provide research, evidence and data that will be crucial in setting the strategic direction and priorities of the organisation, influence advocacy, policy, and system change and information business plans for delivery teams.
- Act as a public spokesperson and leader in young men’s health and mental health.
**For this role, you’ll need**
- Completed (or close to completed) Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, public health, social sciences) with a focus on mental health research or equivalent experience.
- Strong expertise in conducting mental health research and experience with research related to young men's mental health is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R).
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of research projects.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex research findings to diverse audiences.
- Strong publication record and experience in academic writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of ethics and ethical considerations in mental health research.
