**Prince of Wales Hospital** serves as a major referral centre within SESLHD. While Advanced Trainees in Medical Oncology undertaking a core training year are jointly recruited to both Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals, this non-core, full-time training position will be based exclusively at Prince of Wales Hospital, with some exposure to medical oncology services at the Royal Hospital for Women.
The position will be based more specifically at the Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre, renowned as a center of excellence of world-class facilities and services. These include:
- A comprehensive tumour stream-based cancer service facility
- A cardio-oncology clinic
- Cancer survivorship clinics
- The Precision Oncology clinic, the first of its kind in the country
- A substantial Clinical Trial and Research Unit, overseeing over 20 phase 1-3 clinical trials ongoing at any given time
- A new oncology ward in the acute services building
The Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre is situated at the Randwick Health and Innovation precinct.
**What you'll be doing**
This appointment offers a valuable opportunity, ideally suited for third
- or fourth-year Advanced Trainees. The role involves collaborating within a large clinical and academic team, providing clinical care, engaging in clinical work within a subspecialty of interest and per service requirements, and participating in clinical research projects. The medical oncology clinical fellow will operate within a multidisciplinary setting, collaborating with full-time clinicians and researchers.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- At least 6 years full time hospital experience. Experience in precision medicine oncology genetics.
- Commitment to pursue a career in Medical Oncology and the capacity tocomplete the training program.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise at the level of an advanced trainee.
- Experience in teaching both undergraduate and post graduate students.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, good time management skills and capacity for self-directed learning.
