**The Role**
ALS Environmental’s laboratory facility in Springvale, Melbourne is equipped with the latest in analytical technology. Reporting directly to the State Manager, the HSEQ Officer works closely with site leaders and their teams, providing practical guidance, technical advice and support to ensure a safe, sustainable workplace.
**The Day to Day**
- Working collaboratively with site leaders and staff to ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and procedures, and promotion of our ALS Safety Culture
- Identifying, recording and reporting hazards, incidents, injuries and health issues.
- Investigating incidents, identifying causes and providing remedial advice
- Conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections; participating in internal or external audits
- Maintaining local HSEQ records and documentation; providing analysis and reporting.
- Facilitating health management activities, including injury management, RTW, vax and health monitoring programs; coordinating emergency scenario drills
- Facilitating HSEQ training and awareness to management and staff
- Being a driver in ALS’s Sustainability program focused on reducing environmental impact.
**The Essentials**
- You’re a passionate WHS/HSEQ professional, with relevant qualifications (Cert IV minimum)
- Confidence in your knowledge and ability, enabling you to build trust and influence
- Good analytical skills and the ability to think critically
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, to document and deliver content to staff
- Organised and accurate, with strong computer skills including in MS Office
- Willing to learn the business and become familiar with job roles
