**Position Information**:
Forestville Public School is situated in the Forest Area of the Northern Sydney region, with a current enrolment of 518 students. Dedicated staff at our school provide opportunities for students in an inspiring and progressive learning community that engages all to develop a positive attitude, and to be responsible and respectful citizens.
Our team of teaching and support staff work collaboratively to provide high quality teaching programs and a wide array of educational opportunities in a student-centred learning environment. Strong learning support programs and an inclusive environment create the opportunity for all students to achieve success. There is a current focus on evidence-based instruction, explicit teaching and assessment in reading and numeracy, building teacher capacity in the analysis of data and student progress monitoring.
Informed and engaged parents work in genuine partnership with a dedicated and enthusiastic staff committed to developing confident and independent lifelong learners. Each student is provided with opportunities to maximise their academic, emotional and social potential via participation in a range of curricular and extracurricular activities. The school is well resourced and supported by an active and committed Parents and Citizens’ Association.
Forestville Public School pursues excellence in every aspect of teaching and learning. Our library is an integral part of our school and is a hub for the development of information skills and a love of literature in all our students.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education (Refer special notes below).
- Demonstrated capacity to teach students how to access and utilise information. Lead critical and creative thinking, and digital literacy and contribute to innovative teaching across all curriculum areas K-6.
- Capacity to organise, manage and implement a future focussed library learning environment, encompassing the physical space and resources of the library to positively impact teaching and learning for school-wide literacy.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and develop a love of literacy across the school community.

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
