About the role

The Role has 4 main key focus areas.
- ** Operations**

Cooperate with the YMCA by adhering to the organizations various policies, procedures, work practices and standard operating procedures.

Supervision of contractors and coordinate all maintenance projects occurring on site

Maintain the property, grounds, bins, garden beds, landscaping and fencing

Coordinate Cyclic Maintenance & Essential Services schedule.

Responsible for implementation and adherence to the camp’s environmental management plan

Coordinate the weed management plan and oversee weed contractors and volunteers

Maintain the camp’s buildings in a sound, workable and safe condition, ensuring compliance to asset rating 4 as determined by Sport & Recreation Victoria.

Service and upkeep of camp maintenance equipment and machinery

Coordinate the servicing upkeep of all camp vehicles

Oversee camp cleaning in accordance with the camp cleaning schedule

Establish and maintain positive relationships with client groups through provision of high level customer service.

Immediately respond to client needs or concerns to ensure the quality of service meets agreed standards

Handle client complaints and conflict in a timely and appropriate manner

Perform other duties as required

2. **People** **Leadership**

Attend camp leadership team meetings

Responsible for supervising cleaning staff and arranging daily ‘change-over’ logistics with camps Operations Director

Coordinating and supervising other camp staff during camp cleaning and maintenance activities

Supervision and direction of casual maintenance staff

Supervision and direction of casual grounds/gardening team

Training and induction of casual maintenance staff in line with YMCA policies and procedures

Through your leadership, make a significant contribution to the creation of a positive, inclusive and safe staff culture

3. **Health and Safety**

Perform your role in accordance with the specific responsibilities as outlined in the YMCA Victoria Health and Safety Responsibilities Procedure

Promote a positive safety culture by contributing to health and safety consultation andcommunication, and through active participation in the reporting of hazards, incidents and nearmisses.

Ensure that fire safety equipment /systems in buildings are operating effectively at all times and coordinate bushfire preventative works

Coordinate the camp’s essential services in the event of breakdowns /emergencies

Maintain the chemical register and ensuring SDS’s and risk assessments are current

Ensure camp procedures are followed as outlined in the ATAP Accreditation

Role model excellent safe work practices, high level of professionalism and YMCA values (respect, responsibility, integrity and caring) to all campers, contractors and fellow staff

Take reasonable care for your own health and safety, and for the health and safety of others

4. **Administration**

In collaboration with the camp manager, ensure that the maintenance expenditure is in keeping with allocated camp budget and report on the monthly corrective maintenance spend, through maintaining expenditure spreadsheet and making informed decisions on works

Maintain effective maintenance records and condition reports for assets, buildings and equipment
