**About the role**

As a Family Support Worker, you will provide support and referrals to families to enhance their wellbeing and quality of life. You will be joining our Intensive Family Support team who specialise in early intervention for at risk families. In this role you will be required to be flexible in your hours to accommodate client needs as you undertake risk and needs assessments, providing advice and facilitating referrals.

In this role you will:

- Provide direct support services to families, liaising with stakeholders to increase safety and well-being of vulnerable children and young people;
- Support the facilitation of parenting and/or education programs and use appropriate modelling techniques to address identified family needs;
- Liaise with community agencies and referral partners to build professional networks for a family;
- Provide advice and facilitate appropriate referrals for families experiencing identified vulnerabilities;
- Develop and maintain records such as case notes, safety plans, home visit risk assessments and support plans;
- Undertake administrative duties and assist in the development of reports for the service;
- Perform position responsibilities in accordance with the Sanctuary Model of Care framework.

Remuneration for this role is $34.04 - $36.50 per hour commensurate with experience.

**About you**

You are passionate about the welfare of children and supporting families to build capacity for keeping children safe and achieving the absolute best outcomes for them. With an empathetic nature you are compassionate toward vulnerable individuals. You are approachable, and a good problem solver who can think quickly on your feet to make sound decisions. With effective communication skills, you are capable of liaising comfortably with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:

- Certificate III in Child and Family Welfare, Social Work, Community Services or a commitment to undertake further study;
- Minimum two years’ experience working with families, children and youth in a support role;
- Demonstrated understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Act 2012 and the Child Protection Act 1999 will be highly regarded;
- A current driver’s license;
- National Police Certificate and Blue Card (working with children) or the ability to acquire.
