**Role**:
This Music Regulation position will join the team of Performing Arts and Disability Inclusion staff and provide individualised music programs to students identified by the Inclusion Team.

This program is designed for students with diverse learning needs, to learn how to self-regulate, increase attention and focus, and improve emotional intelligence. Music is known to stimulate both hemispheres of our brain, particularly when a song or instrument is used to stimulate cognitive learning.

The role will report to the Head of Faculty - Performing Arts and the inclusion coordinators as well as working closely with the Instrumental Music Co-ordinator(s).

As an education support class position, they support the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

No additional attendance during school holidays is required for this position.

The Music Regulation tutor role will typically involve:

- Providing music lessons to individual students and small groups.
- Monitoring and evaluating student progress according to their individual goals
- Maintaining accurate records of student participation and attendance.

**Responsibilities**:
The Music Regulation tutor is required to:

- Provide weekly instrumental tuition to individuals or small groups.
- Support students to achieve positive outcomes by developing individual goals and achieving those goals.
- Ensure all school processes and procedures are followed, including marking rolls, entering events on Compass, reporting and assessment requirements etc.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of an effective program applicable to Inclusion students.
- Maintain professional standards and good communication with staff, students and parents at all times.
- In the event of student absences, support the program area by undertaking other duties.
- Undertake ongoing professional development and participate in a performance development process.
