**The Workshop Auto Electrician’s main role will be to undertake repairs and maintain equipment such as elevating work platforms, telescopic handlers, skid steers and forklifts. The requirement will be to work on DC electrical systems, hydraulic systems as well as mechanical equipment such as engines, motors and production machine equipment by performing the duties listed below.**

**Cross functional support / training**
**Main responsibilities**:
- **Fault finding, repairs and services, including but not limited to**:
- **Diesel and petrol engines**
- **Diesel, petrol and LPG electrical systems**
- **Hydraulic valves**
- **Electrical starting, charging and accessories**
- **Service/repair the Hire fleet to a high standard**
- **Read and understand electrical diagrams/schematics**
- **Understand, diagnose & repair Can Bus systems**
- **Install electrical accessories on new or used equipment**
- **Test and replace faulty parts, etc.**
- **Use manufacturers diagnostic tools and computers to find and diagnose electrical faults**
- **Install, repair and service air conditioning systems**
- **Account for parts used on jobs by ensuring they are entered on service/repair reports**
- **Ensure unused parts are credited back to stock at job completion**
- **Complete Repair and Service Reports to standards required**
- **Document any items requiring attention while servicing equipment and report to the customer as required**
- **Complete repair and services to both customer and hire units within reasonable time frames**
- **Process workshop service/repair documentation on a daily basis**
- **Present yourself in a professional manner at all times**
- **Work in a safe manner, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided, comply with requirements of the current health and safety legislation and report hazards**
- **Work in compliance with established workplace policies and procedures**
- **Advise non-compliance of procedures, rectify non-compliance and provide solutions to non-compliance**
- **Maintain good housekeeping**
- **Other duties as directed**
**The Person**:

- **Good technical background experience in hydraulics and electrics for supporting**
**Machinery: e.g.: Telescopic Handlers, Forklifts, Tractors, earthmoving equipment etc.**

**Education, qualifications, work experience & licenses**
- **Automotive Electrical trade certificate in heavy vehicles, plant, motor mechanic or equivalent**
- **Demonstrated at least 2 - 3 years’ experience repairing heavy machinery desirable**
- **Experience and knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems**
- **Experience and knowledge of fault diagnostics and software**
- **Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures, including hazard identification and risk assessment training**
- **Current Drivers Licence**
- **Forklift Licence desirable**
- **Current EWP High Risk Licence an advantage**
- **Telehandler Gold Card an advantage**

- **With Manitou Australia (all Dept)**
- **With Manitou Group (Factory, APAC Region etc.)**
- **With Manitou end customers**
- **With local Service Providers**
