**Position Description**
**Bar Attendant**
**December 2022**
Reports to: Club: Club Manager
Committee attendance: Not required
Purpose
- The Bar Attendant is to undertake the daily duties of operating the
Members Bar to service both the Members Area and function room area,
- The delivery of the Bar Attendant’s duties will enhance the positive experience of members and visitors,
- The delivery of the Bar Attendant’s duties will support the maximisation of revenue for the Club,
- The delivery of the Bar Attendant’s duties will ensure the Club’s liquor licence obligations are fulfilled, and the Club’s obligations as a Good
Sports Club are fulfilled
- The Bar Attendant works closely with the Club Manager regarding the bar product offerings,
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Bar Attendant will:
- supply, dispense and mix liquor and soft drink to club members and visitors,
- supply packaged food to members and visitors,
- undertake the heating and serving of snacks in the Bar area,
- receive monies, reconciling end of shift monies,
- assist in areas that support the function of the bar such as the coolroom, and transporting bar supplies,
- undertake general waiting duties of both food and/or beverage including cleaning of tables,
- undertake their duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner,
- keep the work area clear and clean,
- clean glasses as required and rotate cleaned glasses through the fridge,
- remove empty bottles and rubbish as required,
- at times be required to lock fridges, turn off coolroom gas, shut windows, turn off heaters and coolers, lock doors and set the alarm at the end of the shift,
- follow Club Bar processes,
- as requested provide information to the Club Manager,
- comply with Chelsea Yacht Club’s constitution, by-laws, policies and procedures.

Essential Skills & Requirements
- ability to operate a pressurised beer keg system for dispensing beer,
- ability to manage both cash and card sales,
- ability to function in a busy customer serving function,
- ability to interact in a friendly and professional manner with members, visitors and staff,
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
Relevant experience in hospitality would be beneficial.
**Qualifications**:
1. holds a current Responsible Serving of Alcohol certificate
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $28.00 - $40.02 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
Schedule:
- On call
- Weekend availability
- Weekends only
Supplementary Pay:
- Penalty rates
**Experience**:
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- RSA (preferred)
Work Authorisation:
- Australia (preferred)
