Casual Position

**The Role - Disability Support Worker**:

- Looking for support workers to commit to shift schedules as well as irregular hours, including early mornings/ evenings, overnight, weekends and public holidays.
- Support participants with intellectual, mental health and/or physical disabilities.
- May involve Manual Handling, use of lifts and hoists, medication administration, community access, transportation, peg feeding, personal care
- Must be creative and resourceful to assist individuals achieve their goals
- Reliable, committed & motivated to provide the best care to each individual is paramount
- Assistance with daily living at home & community
- Support physical health and emotional well-being
- Must be available to travel in Current LGA’s of concern
- Covid-19 Medicare Vaccination Statement and willing to take regular Covid-19 tests
- Must be willing to create regular Travel Registration Permits and adhere to the current Service NSW rules and regulations
- Assisting individuals to and from community-based activities and appointments
- Assist with all other activities specified by individuals NDIS plan working towards their goals
- Complete all relevant documentation and reporting as required

**Skills and Experience**:

- Proven skills and abilities in providing quality support to individuals
- Demonstrated experience supporting high needs participants - 24/7 support
- Adaptability to work with different individuals including complex and challenging behaviours
- Able to cope with the physical and mental demands of the job
- A strong sense of professional boundaries
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience supporting participants with physical disabilities & Mental Health
- Demonstrated experience with specialty supports such as Peg Feeding, administering insulin, Bowel & Catheter Care, Manual Handling, Medication administration and personal care
- Demonstrated experience in providing care for individuals with complex and highly challenging behaviours in particular working with autism spectrum disorder verbal/ physical aggression
- Be fit and active
- Bilingual English & Arabic language

**To be considered for this role; you must have the following Mandatory Requirements**:

- Minimum 1+ year paid work experience in Disability/ Individual Support/ Mental Health
- Cert III in Disability or Individual Support Desirable
- Evidence of Work rights - must be Australian Citizen, (passport, birth certificate)
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
- Current Paid Working with Children Check
- First Aid Certificate issued within the last 3 years
- NSW Unrestricted Driver License
- Own reliable vehicle and willing to use for work
- Current Full Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Availability and willingness to commit to on-call and work short or long shifts across 7 days varied between AM, PM and sleepover shifts.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate

**Experience**:

- Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
