The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services, whose mission it is to shape a more just and compassionate society.
**The Role**:
Our MMO Service is currently seeking a new **fantastic support worker **to join the team. Due to the success of the program there is the possibility of picking up additional hours/weekend shifts. The **Disability Support Worker** will deliver effective and efficient support with a core focus on quality, flexibility, customised service designed for people living with disability. You will be joining a supportive team with a lot internal opportuniti_es_ and development programs to enhance and grow your career.
**The Location**:
Mary MacKillop Outreach in **Stanmore 2048**, facilitates onsite programmed group activities, community access, and in-home support for people living with disability.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Provide a variety of supports to participants and work in cooperation with the Disability and Inclusion division in a way that is consistent with person we assist support plan.
- Ensure that participant support is consistent with the NDIS principals and the Quality and Safeguard Commission requirements, including demonstrating support consistent with person-centred and positive behaviour support practices.
- Provide support to people with disability in areas such as personal care, health and well-being, accessing the local community, learning independent living skills and implementation of all supports in accordance to funded support needs.
- Work with participants to increase capacity, independence, and community connections.
- Ensure relevant and appropriate participant information is communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain client records, data collection and reports in a professional manner as per service policy.
- Contribute to a safe working environment for members, staff and volunteers by implementing the Society’s workplace health and safety practices.
- Adhere to risk management protocols and procedures that are in place to ensure compliance with legal, employment and governance requirements.
- This role will report to the _**_Team Leader - Mary Mackillop Outreach_**
**To be successful, you will need**:
- Certificate III in Disabilities or equivalent;
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of person-centred services to clients.
- Experience with or understanding of maintaining records of service delivery, or ability to acquire the knowledge.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High-level interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a multifunctional team and to interact with a broad cross-section of people.
- Unencumbered NSW driver's licence & willingness to drive a 10/12 seater mini bus.
- NDIS worker screening check & certificate of completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety & You (or willingness to obtain certificate of completion)
- **Must be available to work Monday to Friday (09.30am - 3.15pm)**
