Data & Enterprise Technology within Suncorp is responsible for driving a Data Governance focus across the organisation, understanding our data/information assets and the value that these trusted assets can bring to the group and ensuring the quality of our information is at the highest standard it can be.

We are looking for a Data Governance Advisor to join our team. You will ensure effective Data Governance and Data Management activities are implemented successfully across the Suncorp group. You will provide exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, influencing and ensuring the business adhere to the enterprise Data Governance Framework to create value and manage risk and compliance.

**What you’ll do**:

- Serve as a lead and coach with key stakeholders in the lines of business across the Suncorp Group to ensure data governance obligations and requirements are clearly defined, communicated, understood and tracked.
- Understand and monitor the adoption of data controls for data quality and security and privacy.
- Contribute to and participate in Data Governance Working Groups and Councils.
- Provide leadership and coaching to key stakeholders from the lines of business to enable the uplift of data governance maturity.
- Understand performance and quality metrics that relate to the monitoring of compliance with the Data Governance Framework and data governance maturity.
- Support the development and maintenance of business term definitions and metadata, including data lineage.
- Use industry standard software packages/tools for maintaining and using metadata and master data (Collibra / RDM).
- Contribute to the promotion of data governance and data management across the Suncorp Group.
- Collaborate with the network of data owners, custodians and stewards to build awareness and a culture of data accountability and responsibility.
- Develop and deliver learning material and sessions.
- Ensure initiatives/projects comply with Suncorp Group data governance requirements.
- Positively influence resolution of problems and issues with consideration of existing competing priorities.
- Formulate and recommend changes and/or enhancements to Suncorp processes and practices.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Tertiary Qualification in related disciple (or equivalent) is desired.
- Experience in data governance and/or data management.
- Experience in data quality management.
- Experience in risk management or compliance.
- Experience in a business or data analysis (3+ years).
- Experience with data governance tools, including Metadata tools (Collibra experience is highly desirable).
- 5+ years stakeholder management experience and ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of an organisation.
