Peninsula Hot Springs is an award-winning wellbeing and spa destination located in Fingal, on the Mornington Peninsula. Our bathing and wellness experiences are nestled harmoniously within the natural landscape and feature stunning indigenous plantings from the local Ecological Vegetation Community.
The Land and Environment Team, consisting of passionate horticulturalists and conservationists, have over the last 20 years resurrected the 30-hectre site from cleared paddocks with little remnant vegetation to the spectacular gardens you can see today. Consisting of manicured and landscape gardens, lawns, kitchen gardens, open spaces, and bushland areas these spaces are managed to provide our guests with a unique relaxation experience and opportunity to connect with nature while providing valuable habitat for our native flora, fauna, and fungi.
The Bush Crew are based within the Grounds and Ecology Team, and assist in maintaining the open spaces and bushland areas of Peninsula Hot Springs. With a strong focus on ensuring guests experience well-presented and ecologically sensitive grounds, the team work to implement conservation of biodiversity works across the site. This includes vegetation management, weed control, biodiversity surveying and pest control.
**Key accountabilities**:
- Assisting with the management of indigenous vegetation (Coastal Alkaline Scrub)
- Assisting with the management and control of pest plants and pest animals including liaison with contractors
- Assisting with the development and implementation of biodiversity surveys
- Assisting in ensuring resources and tools are maintained, stored correctly and available when required
- Participating in the review, refinement, and development of processes
- Developing and fostering proactive and professional relationships
- Ensuring compliance of OHS regulations, company policies and procedures
**Essential Skill and Experience**:
- Passion for conservation, indigenous flora, fauna, and fungi
- Qualification or experience in conservation and ecosystem management (can be completing)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Capability to perform physical tasks in an outdoor environment across all seasons of the year.
- Ability to work unsupervised, demonstrating strong reliability and trustworthiness.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
