**Your role as a Pathology Courier Dispatch**
In this varied role as Pathology Courier Dispatch based in our QML Laboratory in Murrarie, you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth running of our courier network in Queensland as they pick-up and transport Pathology Samples, Specimens, Blood/Blood Products X-rays, Vaccines and clinical waste, as well as taking on the role of Courier to assist when needed.
You will be the backbone of the courier network, organising and priorisiting the courier jobs, involving creating jobs on the system, taking calls from customers, answering calls from couriers and other departments to coordinate courier pickups, monitoring alarms through the QML network, as well as assisting with other administrative duties.
In this unique role you will also have the opportunity to be trained in cutting edge AI software within the Laboratory.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Creating, organising and prioritising courier jobs determined by level of urgency
- Liaising with laboratory staff, couriers other departments to ensure the smooth running of the courier network
- Liaising between Referring Medical Practitioners and the Medical Liaison Officer with regards to store orders
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and integrity
- Assisting with other ad-hoc administration duties
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Work Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance processes
- Excellent time management skills, juggling up to 30 stops per day
- Physical capability to be able to handle equipment weighing regularly up to 10kg -15kg
- The ability to follow instructions and use initiative to make sound decisions

- You have the ability to pick up and navigate systems
- You work well in a fast-paced environment, to ensure high quality & timely results
- Demonstrated customer service and stakeholder management skills
- You work well in a team, as you play an important part in the wider pathology division
- Valid open Australian driver’s license with an excellent driving record
- Previous Pathology Courier experience is considered highly advantageous
- You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
**Requirements**:
- 2 Covid vaccines are required in this role, as well as other vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B
- Ability to work on a Saturday, with a rostered day off in the week
