Modbury High School is a comprehensive school with 50 years of strong traditions and the provision of excellent education for its students.
Its motto _“Finem Respice”_, meaning consider the end, provides direction for all members of the community and especially our students.

We have an opportunity available for grounds and maintenance person to join an inclusive and dynamic team up to 38 hours per week. The position will be offered on a temporary basis initially for 12 months commencing in January 2025.

**What you will do**:

- Ensuring management of safe disposal of waste daily and during the holiday period.
- Set up systems and routines to ensure all machinery is maintained
- Ordering of equipment and keeping accurate asset and maintenance records
- Assisting in painting, welding, minor construction, and repair work
- Ensuring daily plant maintenance inspections are completed in the tech studies centre
- Determine and appraise maintenance requests and manage replacement or repairs
- Liaising with stakeholders to purchase and collect consumables and other equipment
- Provide guidance within level of expertise to other employees

**What you will bring**:

- Proven experience in working in grounds maintenance including the ability to operate and maintain machinery and grounds equipment
- Highly developed interpersonal skills in organisation and communication, and the ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, prioritise workloads and achieve outcomes within agreed timelines
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to promoting and creating a safe and inclusive work environment, and the legislative requirements of equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety legislation
