**About the position**

The Works Supervisor leads a works team in the professional, diligent performance of duties associated with the construction, maintenance and repair of Council’s infrastructure to a best practice standard, and assists the Works Coordinator to coordinate resources in a proactive, cost effective and efficient manner.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Supervise, lead and support works staff to ensure timely completion of daily and monthly programs, whilst overseeing the completion and submission of staff timesheets
- Provide on-call support, coordinating staff, plant and materials in emergency situations
- Ensure WHS procedures, inductions, and risk assessments are followed and documented
- Report incidents and assist with investigations and safety improvements
- Assist with quality and environmental processes, including required documentation
- Assist with preparing quotations, including calculating material and resource needs

**About you**
- Certificate IV in Local Government Operational Works (or working towards) or relevant work experience
- Experience with risk assessments and safe work method statements in road or construction works
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings accurately
- Hold a current Class C Driver Licence and WorkCover OH&S General Induction card
- Competent with basic computer programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Hold a ‘Prepare a Work Zone’ Traffic Management Plan Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

**What we offer**
- **Permanent Full Time**, 38 hours per week,
- A gross weekly salary from $1544.92 to $1733.30 based on demonstrated competencies, qualifications, skills and experience. Plus 11.5% superannuation.
