Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, we are actively looking to hire an experienced National Manager for Health and Safety Governance, who will support Stores, Distribution Centres and National Office teams in achieving high standards of safety and regulatory compliance. This role will be based out of Kmart’s National Office in Mulgrave.

**What you’ll be doing**

As a
**National Manager for Health and Safety Governance** at Kmart, you will:

- Develop and implement the overall safety governance strategy of regulatory compliance, risk management, audit management, document management and health and safety support services.
- Lead a team of safety professionals across risk, governance, systems & training, as well as a call centre support service for health and safety matters.
- Oversee the preparation, release and long-term management of safe work practices and policies.
- Lead and oversee the management of internal and external audit programmes and results.
- Be the primary point of contact for self-insurance audit related matters.
- Oversee the preparation and dissemination of safety reporting.
- Coach, mentor and upskill teams and support stakeholders in ensuring safety compliance.

**To be successful in this role you’ll have**
- 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role with a strong focus on safety audits and governance in a multi-site environment.
- Strong experience within the self-insured environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WHS related legislation across Australia and New Zealand
- Leadership experience in managing direct and indirect teams and have the ability to work across multi-site projects
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills
