We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Open Space department as a Coordinator Gardens Services & Bushcare. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and care of gardens, parks, and bushland areas within our community. You will work closely with a team of dedicated horticultural staff and volunteers to ensure that our gardens and bushcare programs are well-managed and thriving.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and supervise a team of horticultural staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support in the maintenance of gardens, parks, and bushland areas.
- Develop and implement horticultural programs and initiatives, including bushcare projects, tree planting, pest control, and weed management.
- Monitor and evaluate the condition of gardens, parks, and bushland areas, and develop strategies to improve their overall health and appearance.
- Prepare and manage budgets, including procurement of equipment, supplies, and materials required for garden and bushcare operations.
- Liaise with other departments, community groups, and stakeholders to promote and engage in community participation in gardens and bushcare programs.
- Provide technical expertise and advice on horticultural matters to internal and external stakeholders, including Council members, management, and the community.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including Workers Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements.

**About the person**:
We seek an individual who has:

- Demonstrated knowledge or experience in bushland maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and supervising horticultural operations, preferably within a local government setting.
- Strong knowledge of plant identification, plant health care, pest control, and weed management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including WH&S requirements.
- Ability to prepare and manage budgets, and experience in procurement of equipment, supplies, and materials.
