**About the role**
- Assisting with personal care tasks, including dressing, bathing, and grooming, while respecting the individual’s dignity and independence.
- Helping with medication reminders and monitoring for side effects, in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Supporting with mobility and physical activities to promote strength, balance, and overall well-being.
- Providing companionship and offering a sense of security, promoting mental and emotional well-being.
- Assisting with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met, and accommodating specific dietary requirements.
- Offering a safe and supportive environment for individuals to express themselves and engage in meaningful conversations.
- Helping individuals navigate changes in daily routines, while maintaining consistency and familiarity where possible.
- Recognising and addressing any behavioural challenges related to Parkinson's or dementia with patience, empathy, and appropriate strategies.
- Monitoring cognitive changes and communicating any concerns or developments with the care team or family members.
- Providing regular updates and feedback to the family or care team to ensure transparency and continuity in care.
- Encouraging and promoting social interactions with family, friends, and other community members to help maintain social connections.
- Supporting the individual with technology, such as smartphones, computers, or devices for telemedicine appointments.
- Maintaining a calm, positive, and flexible approach to support the individual through both good and challenging days.

Pay: From $32.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Australian National Police Check (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) (preferred)
- NDIS Worker's Check (preferred)
- Certificate in Disability (preferred)
- NSW Driver's License (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
