Do you want a job where you know you have helped someone? If yes, then the role of mother's helper is perfect for you. In this role you are helping a family achieve their goals and maintain a happy and healthy environment. This role would ideally suit allied health / human service students.
The family seeking assistance comprises of six children and two parents. The age of the children ranges from 7 to 21. The mother is a stay-at-home Mum that is around during your shifts if you need assistance. You will be working as part of a team as two other employees are already providing assistance and they are willing to provide employer references to you and answer any questions.
Regular tasks in your shift include:
- Homework help
- General light cleaning, including tidying the children's room
- Laundry
- Preparing school lunches
- Pick up and drop off at school
- Assisting with paperwork
Three of the children are on the NDIS (ASD, ADHD, learning disability, chronic fatigue, anxiety and Tourettes). However, while no disability support is required, you will be paid through the NDIS.
The ideal applicant would enjoy interacting with children while juggling competing priorities, be empathetic under pressure, and can be firm and fair when needed.
Formal requirements (Must Have)
- Blue Card - Working with Children (you cannot start this job unless you have this clearance)
- ABN (check your Visa requirements to ensure you are eligible for an Australian Business Number from the ATO website)
- Driving Licence
Preference (Ideal, but not essential)
- NDIS worker screening check or willing to obtain
- First Aid and CPR
- Have a reliable, safe car
- Aged over 21 (older than the children being supervised)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 25 per week
Schedule:
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift
