**About the Role**:
As an Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy, you will work within the Pharmacy Leadership Team, with responsibility for the Formulary and Contracted Services portfolios. Our Pharmacy Leadership Team is highly regarded. This is an opportunity to work with and learn from recognised national leaders in hospital pharmacy practice.

This role is suitable for an experienced hospital pharmacist leader looking to progress their career in a supportive environment. At Monash Health, Assistant Deputy Directors of Pharmacy report to a Deputy Director of Pharmacy. Your direct reports will be Pharmacy Team Leaders, who each manage a team of 10-12 pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Join our team as an Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy on a full time, ongoing basis working across all Monash Health sites.

The Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy - Formulary and Contracted Services will be responsible for the day to day oversight of these services. They will assist the Deputy Director of Pharmacy - Strategy and Business Development to manage their portfolio responsibilities, specifically in these areas:

- Oversee the management of the medication formulary including the use of restricted and non-formulary medicines
- Develop the Pharmacy Department Procurement Plan, including responsibility for resulting Initiations to Supply
- Lead the Formulary and Business Development team including management of relationships with key representative from the pharmaceutical industry and be responsible for implementation and ongoing support of Business Development initiatives
- Day to day oversight of contracted services including Jessie McPherson Private Hospital

As part of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy - Formulary and Contracted Services will actively participate in planning for and delivery of the Pharmacy’s strategic and business plans, and work with other members of the Pharmacy Leadership Team to deliver excellence in the Pharmacy Service.

In addition, the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy - Formulary and Contracted Services plays a crucial role in promoting and pursuing excellence, professionalism and efficiency through teamwork, governance, continuous improvement, education and research to meet the needs and safety of patients, staff and external stakeholders.

**About You**:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

- Pharmacy Board of Australia approved qualifications as a Pharmacist
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority as a Pharmacist
- _Post-graduate qualifications relevant to position_
- Extensive experience as a _hospital_ _pharmacist
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills to develop and manage pharmacy financial data
