**About us**

We are a boutique canine breeding establishment, situated at Thirlmere (2572). We are registered breeders and breed pedigree dogs. We are passionate about raising puppies and kittens that are well adjusted and confident in every day situations.

**About the role**

This position involves caring for our dogs and puppies.

This role is perfectly suited to a local school leaver, or someone wishing to leave school and enter full time employment with a traineeship (we can supply the required documents to your school to allow early exit).

As part of this role, we are offering the Certificate II in Animal Care Services qualification as a traineeship. This role perfectly suits someone who is looking at undertaking an animal related course at Tafe. Instead of going to Tafe 3-4 days a week, and doing assignments and work experience in your own time, you can be paid to do it through your employment with us. All course work is completed during working hours.

Responsibilities of this position include:

- Preparing and giving meals.
- Cleaning and sanitising dog areas.
- Proving enrichment.
- Monitoring the wellbeing of the dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
- Following animal health management practises.
- Maintaining health records.
- Opportunity to learn about dog training and breeding.

**Working hours**

5 days per week.

Need to be available to work weekends, either the AM shift or the PM shift.

**About the Traineeship**

The Certificate II in Animal Care Services course is delivered online, through Tafe. All training and assessment is conducted on the job. There are no classes or exams. The employer pays the applicable fees and supplies the required training materials and textbooks. All work for the course is completed in working time.

After successful completion of the Certificate II in Animal Care Services, you may be offered the opportunity to progress to the Certificate III.

Other opportunities in the business for role progression include: Grooming, Dog Trainer, Senior Attendant.

**Requirements**:
The successful applicant will:

- Live within 30 minutes drive of Thirlmere.
- Be physically fit and able to comfortably lift 15kg.
- Have a passion for dogs.
- Be enthusiastic and keen to learn.
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- You do not need to have a car or drivers license, but you will need to have reliable transport to and from work

**Salary**
