**Job Description**:
Nine Sydney is seeking a **Social Media Manager - Weekends**. Reporting to the **Social Lead - News**, this fast-paced and exciting role is responsible for managing the News and Current Affairs social media team on Saturdays and Sundays to execute ongoing strategy across our brands. You will work across a number of verticals to develop great social media content and amplify the brand and people working on each show.

You will collaborate closely with the Social Lead and other Social Media Managers to maintain consistency in coverage throughout both weekdays and weekends. In order to fulfil the full-time workload, you will be required to work on weekends, as well as select any three additional weekdays of your choice. We offer flexibility in determining which specific weekdays will be part of your work schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage the News and Current Affairs social media team across the weekend.
- Overseeing coverage across Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and Twitter.
- Producing and proofreading social content (particularly bespoke video and graphics).
- Working with producers and reporters in the creation and publication of relevant, original, shareable and high-quality content.
- Maximise audience reach and engagement across our pages.
- Maximise referral traffic to relevant digital assets.
- Maintain community management and moderation standards.
- Contributing to insights/reports that will help shape ongoing strategy.

**Qualifications**:
Essential experience & skills
- Well-developed knowledge of social media platforms, analytics and insights platforms, as well as knowledge of algorithms and ability to develop best practices.
- Well-rounded knowledge emerging social trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Prior experience in broadcast news and/or digital news
- A genuine interest in daily news, current affairs and sport.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
