Purpose of Role:
Weir Minerals requires two highly motivated and safety focused Trades Assistants to build timber forms that will be fed into the state of the art 5 axis CNC machine to be precision cut to the shape of a patternmaker's CAD model.

Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain the fleet of existing patterns with high attention to detail, under the guidance of skilled tradespersons.- Build timber forms in consultation with tradesperson patternmakers with accuracy and strength using general woodworking construction techniques.- Patterns that have been cut will need hand finishing to a high level.- Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.- Be able to work to safe operating procedures with high level of diligence, to achieve Zero Harm in the workplace.- Work to an agreed delivery schedule to ensure there is no down time of CNC work center.- Work in tandem with tradespersons on shop floor to supply high quality tooling to the foundry.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- 3 years' experience in woodworking environment - carpentry, cabinet making, furniture making.- Understanding of basic measuring equipment.- Understanding of basic wood joinery techniques.- Use of machinery including but not limited to bandsaws, table saws, disc sanders and drill presses.- Use of powered and non-powered hand tools including but not limited to sanders, jigsaws, grinders, chisels and gouges.
