**We will count on you to**:
The Investment Analyst will sit within Mercer’s Investment Management (IM) team and will report to Portfolio Manager, Equities. The analyst will play a key role in supporting portfolio management activities for the domestic and global equity funds, as well as working broadly across the IM team in delivering strong investment outcomes for our clients and achieving competitive returns across relevant time periods. The analyst will also be responsible for assisting in the implementation of Mercer’s sustainable investment framework, working closely with the Sustainable Investment Leader, Pacific.

**Main duties include**:

- Provide assistance in the preparation of portfolio analytics and analysis at the portfolio level and investment manager level, and monitoring of fund manager research through Mercer's proprietary GIMD tool and providing timely updates to the Investment team on both incumbent and prospective investment managers.
- Supporting the Portfolio Manager, Equities in manager selection and portfolio construction decisions to deliver alpha across the Pacific equity funds. Included in the role is helping ensure best-practice integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principals into the funds and the achievement of long term, environmental and socially focused goals of the Mercer Funds.
- Undertake responsibility for Mercer’s ESG analytics such as exclusions framework for sustainability labelled funds in close working with sustainable investment team.
- Coordinating and producing materials to support presentations to the Chief Investment Officer, the Pacific Investment Committee, the Mainstream Assets Global Investment Committee and other governing bodies as required from time to time.
- Manage queries and requests from internal and external stakeholders, and act as a conduit of information for the IM Team.
- Work with key stakeholders including the Investment Solutions (IS) Office Manager and investment marketing support to ensure clear communication and messaging, resulting in strong stakeholder awareness of fund characteristics and objectives, as well as timely awareness of fund and investment manager changes including rationale.
- Attend investment manager meetings and contribute to the due diligence process on existing and potential solutions while building knowledge of the equity manager universes and developing relationships for the benefit of managing the Pacific equity funds.
- Responsibility for tracking and progressing key deliverables for the Pacific equity funds.
- Collate market data used in monthly and quarterly reporting, for internal and external purposes. This includes liaising with the Operations team and maintaining ongoing contact with the appointed managers to monitor performance and resolve any issues arising.
- Support the implementation of investment manager changes and fund changes, working closely with the Portfolio Manager, Equities, the IS Implementation team, the Operations team and other parties as required.
- Keep abreast of industry and market developments and best practice through continuing education activities, including developments in Sustainable Investing.

**What you need to have**:

- Experience using a third-party risk system such as MSCI BarraOne, Aladdin or Style Enterprise is desirable.
- A sound knowledge of investment markets and asset classes.
- Experience of ESG integration and sustainable investment.
- Capability to develop solid client communication skills, including the ability to articulate the IM Team’s value proposition.
