Location: 23-31 Fennell Street, Port Melbourne VIC 3207. As required, you will also support our Sydney facility remotely.
Working Hours: Primarily Monday to Friday, 9 Hours per day including a 1 Hour unpaid meal break. Start and finish times may vary with business needs and additional hours of work may be required.
Reporting to: Managing Director
The Company
Soundfirm is one of Australia’s largest independent post production companies, operating award-winning facilities in Melbourne, Sydney and Beijing. For nearly 40 years we have produced award-winning soundtracks for feature films, television drama, foreign language dubbing, IMAX, short films and documentaries. In the last 10 years our services have extended to the full suite of post-production services including picture editorial, visual effects, and picture grading.
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Post Production Producer, ideally with a strong knowledge of high-end Sound Post for Theatrical and Episodic content. The role needs to be filled immediately.
You will need a strong knowledge of high end Post Production and be comfortable working in an agile environment on multiple projects.
Project genres include Features, High End Drama and Feature Documentaries.
You need to be a natural problem solver who understands client service environments and can work as part of a creative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret briefs to prepare accurate Quotes on Picture and Sound Projects including Feature, Episodic and Documentary projects.
- Communicate directly with our clients, defining their requirements, then planning and resourcing a project with internal creative teams and external contractors
- Own the project at every stage of production, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to an extremely high standard.
- Ensure Picture and Sound projects are set up correctly and run smoothly, working closely with Talent, Workflow, Operations and Support teams.
- Manage the budget and schedule all projects assigned to you, ensuring all data is entered accurately and schedules are up to date and maintained.
- Gain agreement on payment schedules with clients ensuring that bills are signed off according with the agreed terms.
- Ensure billing for all projects is accurate and on time.

Support fellow Producers across Soundfirm in the planning and execution of projects.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years working in the industry in a similar capacity Degree or Diploma in a relevant field (not mandatory)
- Solid background in a high-end post-production environment and confident with post production workflows across long form genres.
- Applicants need to show they have relevant experience and a general knowledge of the industry including Production and Post Production terminology. You will need a working knowledge of roles, functions, capabilities, workflows, equipment, scheduling / project management software and have experience post producing picture or sound for Television or Features.
