Your Role

The position is available for an immediate start with an end date of 27 June 2025 unless otherwise determined.

The Principal Advisor Autism plays a key role in the region's delivery of autism-specific services and expertise. The role is line managed by the Manager, Inclusive Practices and professionally supervised by the Manager, Autism Hub.

The Principal Advisor Autism will:
Coach school leadership teams to build staff capability to implement evidence-informed practices to support students with autism.
Deliver autism-specific professional learning for school staff and regional leaders.
Establish and cultivate effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders including school teams, parents, internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with key regional staff to ensure a coordinated approach to support schools in the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based practices to meet the learning needs of students with autism and reduce practices that create barriers to access and participation.
Provide advice and support to schools with at-risk or critical incidents involving students with autism.
Collect and share up-to-date information on programs, services and supports for students with autism.

Mandatory requirements

Travel across the region is required of this position.
A current driver's licence is required.
