**About the program**
The **Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI)** is a state wide program that supports people with a severe mental illness to live and recover in the community in the way that they want to. HASI is part of a suite of community-based psychosocial programs for adults called the NSW Mental Health Community Living Programs. HASI provides psychosocial supports that help people build independence in daily life and contribute to recovery. The types of support people receive depends on their individual needs and own unique goals for what they want to achieve. HASI helps people identify goals and work towards meeting those goals by providing support in collaboration with Community Mental Health clinical teams.
**About the role**
We are seeking a** Part-Time Mental Health Support Worker for 4 days per week** to join our supportive team here at Wellways Australia. Reporting to the Program Manager & Team Leader of HASI South Western Sydney, you will work with the team to provide direct support to participants within the Wellways practice frameworks. This role involves ensuring reporting is completed regularly aligned with our funding agreement.
**What do you need?**
- ** ESSENTIAL**: Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, or Community Services, or able to demonstrate working toward these qualifications (i.e. proof of enrolment).
- ** DESIREABLE** : Demonstrated experience/knowledge in working with people in their mental health recovery
- ** DESIRABLE**:Previous work experience in HASI or CLS.
- A strong team player who can work autonomously
- Well-developed emotional intelligence, personal resilience, and the ability to self-reflect
- Highly developed literacy, communication, and interpersonal skills with well-developed administration skills
- Experience in working with diverse groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) people, refugee groups and LGBTIQ groups will be highly regarded
- A current and valid Driver's License
- Satisfactory Police Records Check [less than 12 months old] and Working with Children Check, prior to commencement
- NDIS Workers Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Evidence of up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19 (including at least 1 booster vaccination) or valid medical exemption
