Above Scaffolding Pty Ltd commenced operations in March 1995, and is the Engineered Scaffolding Specialist - designing and installing innovative access solutions for hire and sale. We serve a broad range of industry sectors including Civil & Infrastructure, Medium-Rise & High-Rise Construction, Building Maintenance and Bridge Maintenance & Repair.

Above Scaffolding Pty Ltd offer engineered access solutions within the construction industry for Tier 1 projects, we are looking for Mechanical Technician to join our team. Our focus is on maintaining our equipment to the highest safety standards.

**The Role**:
This is a fulltime permanent position, salary between $70k and 80k plus superannuation, depending on experience. Based at our Facility in Smithfield NSW with occasional site visits, you will report to the Operations Manager and will co-ordinate with our yard Manager. You will be responsible for the compiling of equipment, both Mechanical and Electrical, used in our swinging stage and rigging areas. All equipment is stringently logged and tested prior to sending to our job sites.

**Key responsibilities are, but not limited to**:

- You will be given a specification and will be required to fulfil a gear list for a specific project, you will be required to check our stocks, perform any testing of the equipment (where required) and compile the equipment with all the relevant records for maintenance history, ready for despatch with all the relevant data. Then test and tag the equipment and save all the documents into a job-data package.
- Liaise with our mechanical fitter where required to facilitate repairs and services and keep a maintained minimum stock level.
- Preform Testing of Skyclimber Hoists and skylocks on our test bed
- Updating and maintaining a maintenance system with App / Trello based software
- Methodical logging of changes and updating our system, goods out and returns
- Setting of limit switches and load cell calibration
- Electrical testing and tagging
- Rigging inspection
- Inspection and tagging for working at heights equipment
- Manual handling when packing of goods
- Occasional travel to site for testing and tagging of equipment
- Always ensuring the safety of yourself and others by following Above Scaffoldings safety policies and procedures.
- Support our team in developing and sustaining a continuous improvement and innovative culture.
- Multi-skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines having a good understanding of both.
- Computer literacy and skilled in using Microsoft Office suite, ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings and procedures.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in swinging stage equipment with good understanding of the safety procedures and aspects of the design and build.
- Previous Experience compiling equipment and maintaining records
- Understand rigging systems in particular must have previous experience performing safety inspections on rigging equipment and be classed as competent
- Classed as competent in Testing and Tagging harnesses and working at heights equipment
- Classed as competent in Testing and tagging of 240v Electrical Portable equipment,
- Must have previous experience in using Patguard or similar testing equipment
- Must have experience Testing of Hoists under load
- Fork lift licence an advantage
- Practical skills for various small repairs, able to use hand tools.
- Physically fit able to manual handle equipment
- Good communication Skills
- Must have a Full driving licence Class C
- Police and Driving Checks will be required
