About the Hotel

The Australian Hotel Ballina is a classic 1920’s building situated in the heart of Ballina, Northern NSW. It features a Mexican Cantina, renovated public bar, gaming room, and an expansive dog-friendly beer garden. Our goal is to be the best community pub in Ballina.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for a manager seeking work-life balance. As a Duty Manager, you will support our Licensee and help motivate, train and support the team You will inspire pride in your team and practice your leadership ability in a supportive and well-established hotel.

You will report directly to the Venue Manager as well as the Hotel Manager, and work closely alongside the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager.

A strong background in dealing with liquor licensing compliance is essential for this role. You’ll need experience in a fast-paced environment, confidence in your people skills, and the ability to work autonomously.

Areas of focus will be across:

- Cantina
- Public Bar
- Gaming

About You
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Management/Supervisory role
- Strong background in liquor licensing compliance
- Ability to create a positive environment and train staff, encouraging their personal growth and development
- Experience in managing rosters including wage cost while on shift by coordinating breaks appropriately and filling shifts when employees call in sick
- Cash handling skills including cash up and daily reconciliations
- Strong computer literacy
- Outgoing, personable, and friendly personality
- Ability to remain calm and lead the team under pressure

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 28 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Supervising: 2 years (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
